About

Bonnie Cotier

Golden Dog is the business entity for Bonnie Cotier’s design solutions. That’s me. My career began as an airbrush illustrator in 1981, and I remain steadfastly true to my roots. I am passionate about combining aesthetics and practicality to achieve the intended effect. My goal is to engage an audience. I create experiences that resonate across all communication media to get results.

Philosophy

To see is to think. Visual clues processed through personal, historical and cultural experiences produce our individual reaction to what we see. I tap into this natural process knowing that when a design engages, it encourages interest and stimulates a response.

A Bit of History

In the early days as an illustrator, I worked with some of the best creative directors along the eastern seaboard of the United States. In 1994, I took my studio online with goldendog.com, which changed the signature of my work from Cotier to Golden Dog Productions. The name was shortened in January 2010. Twice in my career I went in-house. In 1994 I became an art director, then a creative director, for Oncor Communications, where I remained until 1997. In 1999 I spent a year working for the Washington, DC, office of public relations firm Ketchum.

During my career, I have made the transition from mechanicals to digital in print, embraced the ever-changing web environment, and hopped back and forth across the pond a few times, too. My original logo was a halo of golden concepts worn by a dependable, loyal dog. This personal combination won the confidence and business of clients that include presidents of the United States, chief executive officers of global corporations, advertising agencies, public relations firms and nonprofit organizations. The logo has matured to focus on what I do best—design.

By 2000, the Internet allowed me to be location independent. Virtually linked to clients; writers; and, with growing importance, programmers, I was able to work seamlessly with my United States-based clients while living overseas. Currently, I reside with my husband, a black lab and a few guinea pigs in a charming village in Cambridgeshire, England.
